Lucie Niemelä

A girl from a mining region who made it in Finland. Lucie Niemelä comes from the town of Orlová. Aged eleven, she started playing the piano, singing and writing songs. At fifteen she heard the Finnish language for the first time and fell in love with it. The following year she went to Finland to take part in a language course. Later she moved there and married a Finnish musician. Her songs from her youth had lain idle in a cupboard for ages, but eventually saw the light of day. "I studied at university in Helsinki and then worked in an office, which almost drove me mad. I realised my heart belongs to music," she said, recalling the time when music was only a hobby for her. She released a CD in Finland and Germany, and now she hopes to make her name in the Czech Republic. LUCIE will perform at the festival twice – first during the TOURFILM awards ceremony, and then at its closing during a special concert connected with projection of the most beautiful places in FINLAND.
